Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
5.0
Absolutely wonderful. Very vivid and poetic language, without it being flowery or compromising the relatability of the characters. Reading it so long after it was written, in such a different world today, it still makes sense as a critique of fascism and modernity. Powerful to read in the afterword that the Nazi bookburnings were an inspiration, you can totally see that, without the book being specifically and fascism or totalitarianism, it's much more interesting and nuanced and compelling than that. I was incredibly impressed.
