i didn't know what to expect going into my first kristen hannah book. of course i knew that it was going to be an important story but i'm not a historical fiction girl so i was just a bit unsure. i ended up absoutely loving this story. it is so beautiful and heartbreaking and tells a story of women who were forgotten. despite this being a war-time vietnam historical fiction, i felt like there were so many aspects of frankie's story i personally resonated with and for the first time in a year and a half, a book managed to make me cry. i highly highly recommend this book even if you think it would be for you.
