Legit, this book was just... *happy sigh* everything I needed.
I think after Zodiac Academy I was heading into a hard book slump but this book definitely revived me.
The Daddy Death list has officially been updated with ❤️🔥 War ❤️🔥
Halfway through The Four Horsemen series and so far loving it!
While I found Pestilence to be really interesting (low-key questioning life / humanity after lol), War was just as great HAHA I straight up did a happy dance when Miriam and War crossed crashed paths because hello! forced proximity 😜
“Netet wā neterwej.” You are the one He sent me;
He doesn’t speak any language I recognize … and yet I understand him as though he does.
“Netet tayj ḥemet.” You are my wife.
TSPKTSPKTSPK even though War was sent to judge the hearts of men and inflict the nature of humanity, it's his relationship with Miriam that gets his 'celestial being' to reconsider his actions.
Because even though he claims they're married, Miriam holds her ground and makes him work for it 😅
“Surrender,” he whispers against my skin.
I stretch back against him. “You surrender.”
He groans, a hand gripping my hip.
*screams into pillow* just 🤤💖🥵
Overall, a really fun read; very well balanced and with the way that epilogue ended !!! I'm excited to read Famine next.
P.S. This book has themes of violence and attempted SA (on page, not by the MMC) and more so be sure to check trigger warnings beforehand.
