Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts One and Two by Jack Thorne

2.0

I didn't want to give this such a low rating but I have too many problems with this book, so instead of focusing on the bad (which is difficult, honestly) I'm going to point out the decent bits:

1. Draco's characterization was really good.
2. The 1981 flashbacks.
3. <3 Albus/Scorpius <3
4. McGonagall is still McGonagall.
5. Ron's humor held up.

Honestly that's all the decent bits I can remember. I'm also wondering just HOW MUCH input JKR had in this when a lot of the writing credit seems to be going to Jack Thorne. I said I wasn't going to focus on the problems I had but the OVERWHELMING problem is nearly all the characterizations of characters I have loved for years. You mean to tell me Ron go so drunk at his OWN WEDDING that he doesn't remember much? (Is this JKR getting back at the fans who were pissed (for good reason!) over her saying what she said about Ron/Hermione? I don't know, I was just hugely disappointed with the characterizations.

And don't get me started on Delphi. [massive eye roll] The entire plotline rehash with Voldemort made absolutely NO SENSE and it completely contradicts what we already know of Voldemort in canon. Sorry, I'm not buying it.
