I'm rereading this book. The first read was a sucker punch. The second one was less painful. Everything about this book- the details, the art, the characters, the plot, the prose- is a masterpiece. The only thing that seems a lil silly in retrospect is the 18 year olds thinking that it's "cradle robbing" to date a 17 year old. We love a firm boundary. But lol at that 1 year age difference.

It's just a really realistic novel and a hot take that many a young queer needs. Being in an on again off again relationship where you keep getting jerked around makes you act like a jerk to your friends. Don't settle for being someone's back up plan; you can break up even if you're still in love; you can leave relationships that don't serve you.

People's reviews for this book are so weird. This is how people must feel when I leave negative-neutral reviews for their fave books.

Other details I loved-
- little stuffed animals chiming in with their thoughts
- grayscale + pink tones
- fat characters
