I have recently read all of the Cat Ninja comics at least 3 times each with the kids I tutor, and I think they're a very cute and fun story about what it means to be a family. I especially appreciate how it handles the topic of divorce, which I think is very important for kids to see in media like this where their feelings can be heard and explored in a healthy manner.
"Chapter 1: The Great Hamster Heist" does a great job of establishing the characters and the world they live in. It had been ages since I'd last seen a cheezburger cat meme, so seeing that style mixed with some tongue-in-cheek satire about internet culture today was pretty wild in a fun way. Young kids probably wouldn't get it, but the adults reading along with them most likely will.
