One of the best books I’ve read in my life. I will invariably read it again. I’ve never read a book where time feels so relative: there’s liberal foreshadowing, all the generations of characters reuse their parents/uncles/grandparents name which make every generation feel connected, there’s a lot of reminiscing and telling and re-telling of stories, and even in the later half of the book old or lesser characters will suddenly become main characters and pop up again. A beautiful, spiritual, mysterious family epic.
