This story drew me straight in and read really smoothly, which is not always the case with YA. I’m also from Ohio, not too far from where this is set, so that was another thing I thought was done very well. The Midwest has a myriad of political opinions, and this was another book that did the work to make all the characters fleshed out and not just props to move around the MCs.
