I read this book the first time more than two years ago. I gave it 4 stars because the romance didn't feel as important as the plot: we don't see the MCs interacting that much before they're in love with one another. But now, I must give it 5 stars. Having read many more romances novels, I still remember everything about this story. It's simply special. Also, on a re-read I deeply appreciate the fact that the story is set in a world than not only is queer-normative, but trans-normative. A lot of the secondary characters are trans, but you wouldn't realize without paying attention.
