A Hard Day's Write: The Stories Behind Every Beatles Song by Steve Turner

slow-paced

1.0

I don’t like giving out one star reviews but sometimes it has to be done. The main point here is that this book is point-blank inaccurate. I was already noticing small things but when they slapped a photo clearly from the filming of Help and labeled it as on the set of Hard Days Night it lost all credibility for me.

Then there was the actual text itself. It wasn’t particularly intriguing or revealing in any way but my real issue was with the bold/unfounded claims the author seemed to just put with facts as though they were one. The best example is this sentence about John: “Children who’s parents leave them or die suddenly are often left feeling that they must be in someway responsible.”

Really with a million and one books about the Beatles out there just don’t waste your time.
