Dark Needs at Night's Edge by Kresley Cole

5.0

If this isn't the perfect example of how to get lady blue balls, then I don't know what is. This book by proxy is SWIMMING in sexual tension like you would not believe. Dark Needs At Night's Edge is the fourth book in the ongoing Immortals After Dark series and we finally get to see the infamous Conrad Wroth succumb to his own fated mate--unfortunately his bride is...well out of reach.

Ya'll I honestly had so much fun reading this book. Neomi and Conrad was a complete hoot to read. Neomi is our first ghost in the series and she is trapped in the house she was murdered in 80-ish years ago; a ballerina forever in her prime, Neomi was enthralling from the first moment she came onto the page. I loved her ingenuity and determination to live her life even when it ceased. Conrad is crazed when his brothers hold him prisoner at Neomi's abandoned home; going through blood withdrawal and seeing the memories of those he has killed, he is at his whits end.

It was so much fun watching these two meet each other and learn from one another. I took an increased level of pleasure watching their relationship grow in the absence of touch. Seeing this different aspect of intimacy between a hero and heroine for majority of the book was such a rush and a level of freshness that I couldn't get enough of it. Plus who knew verbal foreplay was so hot?!

One of the sweetest and hottest books in the series so far (Bowen is still my favorite book though); Dark Needs At Night's Edge is a prime example of a great vampire romance. Writhing with sexual tension and a chemistry so strong only the fates could rival it; I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone looking for a solid PNR vampire romance where you never know exactly how things will end.
