Tinkers by Paul Harding

Very good book with a really interesting story behind it. (You can read about it here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=126054322 )

I need to read it in less of a rush. The writing is beautiful and the story is interesting, although the story line is a bit too diffuse for my taste.

The description of the father's seizures and the grandfather's dementia are both amazing.

Hard to recommend because it's difficult to read; on the other hand, it's really very short, so it's not hard to hang in there long enough to read it.

I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars and finally gave it 4 because of its originality.
