“When you have seen enough of other people, you will learn that it is they who believe their lives are meaningless. Why should I value them, who do not value themselves?”

Another smash for the year, towards the beginning of the book there were convoluted feelings inside me for some characters, and I've been wondering what the hell happened to the the relationship's of certain characters too. But after the 20 chapter mark things get EPIC!!!. I mean it will just hook you till the last chapter, and some of the character moments in this book were quite good, it really changed the feeling for me for certain characters.

SpoilerI liked Jinan very much and preferred her over Valka at the beginning of the novel, but as chapters went by and Jinan met Had for the second time and what she did then I actually believe he made the right decision to leave her even if the motivation's were different

"It is easy for those without wealth to pretend at morality, as if they would not themselves make depraved choices given the means. There is no morality in poverty. It is only that wealth gives the immoral greater opportunity for abuse"

I quite liked the character of Kharnn Sagara it was fun and intriguing to read about him. I don't know how I wanna feel about Bassander Lin I sometimes like him and other time want to slap some sense into him. I was sad about what happened to a certain character I really liked the Red Company and with the revelation on the latter chapters I'm excited to see what will become of Hadrein Marllow

"A man is the sum of his memories—and more—he is the sum of all those others he has met, and what he learned from them. And that is an encouraging thought, for that knowledge and those memories survive and are part of us through every storm, and every little death."
