Tristan Miles’ job for Miles Media is to find companies that are struggling and acquire them. His job lands Anderson Media in his crosshairs but when he offers to buy the company, the owner, Claire Anderson, is determined that she is not giving-up on the company that her dead husband built and the dream that one day their sons would be able to take over the company. Tristan finds himself intrigued by Claire but he is nothing like any woman who he has ever dated before and her sons seem to hate him.

I picked-up this book because I was craving the wholesome of Tristan stepping-up to be the man that these boys need in their life and the love that he finds with Claire through this. On that count, this book most definitely delivered as Tristan is sweet, kind, and patient. I was a little bit worried that this book would not hold up to re-read as book one in the series, The Stopover, is very definitely not a great time as Jameson is an absolutely horrible love interest. Interestingly, I found Claire to be the more challenging character in this book but more towards the end of the book where she is buckling under the pressure of trying to keep Anderson Media afloat and has a hard time adapting to the fact that Tristan is not her dead husband and she must compromise to be make space for him in her life.

I did think that the ending of this book left a little bit to be desired as it felt as though we didn’t really get a satisfying conclusion to their story and the changes and compromises that they would make to live their happily ever after. Whilst I know that there is a book of extended epilogues for all of the brothers and their partners, I would have at least liked to have seen a little more of the Anderson-Miles living as a real family and maybe finding a new home as that was left somewhat open; it also would have been nice to have seen Tristan get his dream of being able to adopt the boys.

Overall, I had a good time with this book and it delivered what I was looking for.
