Can't Stand the Heat by Louisa Edwards
5.0
This was a fabulous, fabulous book. I enjoyed every second of it! The story was about a restaurant critique named Miranda who spends a month learning the behind-the-scenes of kitchen life. She enters into a dare set by a chef named Adam who just opened a new restaurant called Market. And they end up falling in love, after a few frigid encounters. I loved their tension in the beginning and how the author built it up to a romance.
There was a gay theme in the book, involving Miranda's brother and another chef in the kitchen named Frankie. Their story was sweet and very well-written.
The sex scenes were a little vivid and explicit so I would stay away if your not into that. (But if you are? WHOA! Get. Ready.)
This book was great and one of the best I've read in a while. If you like romance, you'll like this book.
