Cute illustrated early chapter book. The familiarity of a story about an irrepressible young heroine and her dog is made fresh with the setting in Bogota. I wasn't very excited about the plot- it centers around her not wanting to learn English in school, then working harder and mastering it so she can go on vacation to an amusement park in the U.S.- but this is a promising start to a charming own voices series filled with fun characters. Highly recommended for ages 7-9.
