I think labelling this book a romantasy is a bit misleading - it is more a political fantasy if anything. Whilst I can see the romance plot growing across the rest of the future series, it’s not the driving factor of this book more a secondary aspect. However I am pleasantly surprised by this book. I found it intriguing and hard to put down. I know it’s been quite a polarising book online  but I honestly found it an enjoyable read. I’m not a Star Wars fan and have absolutely no clue about ‘Reylo’ - however I didn’t feel at a disadvantage in terms of romantic plot just because I didn’t know of the fanfiction. Tbh this book is well written and I’m excited to see how it pans out.
