2 stars feels generous…
I really REALLY wanted to like this but the writing felt immature while also pretending to be posh and highly intelligent. The main conflict felt underbaked and had good ideas, but needed to be fleshed out more. The villains made more arguments in the two seconds of screen time that they had than either of the protagonists.

The romance was the worst part. It was forced and honestly toxic. Pleiti (our Watson) has no backbone. Her entire personality revolves around Mossa (Sherlock).
like at the end when she’s in meetings she’s literally only thinking about Mossa?? and don’t get me started on “you don’t have to change because I did.”

Overall there were good ideas in here but it needed more time and needed more eyes on it. I wanted to like the characters but everything they did felt forced and the author gave me no reason to care about them. The world building was uninspired and the elements that were interesting were glanced over in favor of “BUT MOSSA!!”
ALSO THE WHIP LASSO MADE ME WANT TO DIE. It came out of nowhere and made no sense. like… be for real.
