POPSUGAR READING CHALLENGE: A Book that came out in a year ending in 24

LOL. I tore this book a part when i reviewed it with my friend who is doing this challenge with me ⚰️ . I aint mean to go that hard on a novella, but this had so much potential it could have lived up to and just....didn't. So i'll make this review a lil shorter than the one on our notion we have LOL

First the stuff i liked about this book was the juxtaposition of ‘death’ and ‘love’ being together and the fact that death took on whatever form to bring the souls/spirits comfort as he brought them to the afterlife was a cool tidbit. The romance was...okay also. Nothing big and like zero tension– very insta-lovey. Thats where the enjoyment for me ended though.

The NAMESSSSSSS in this book take the cake for the worst I've seen in a book. They were just very....like matchy to what their jobs were and i couldn't get past it. There were Cupids, Reapers, Ghosts, and Angels. The book is about a cupid (Love- yes thats her name) and a Reaper (Death– thats his literal name) was really frying me. Then the Cupids lived in......Cupidale. Big no from me im sorry.

The fantasy element didn't land for me properly either, mostly because I just had too many questions. If this would have been longer in order to explain things more, but i think i would have enjoyed it more, but it was just....very unoriginal to me and she was just like "we like messing with humans on earth hehe" but like no explanation to what or why she was a cupid or why he was a reaper. The book had the overall pieces of the fantasy puzzle but none of the pieces fit together–one was a dog puzzle piece and the other was a rubiks cube
