Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli
4.5
I, ADORED, this book. I went in completely blind and didn't realize who the author was, until I was finished, but I should have known, I've never read a book by Becky Albertalli that left me feeling any less than how I felt when I finished this story. It was sweet, and funny, and poignant, and so well written!
Imogen is the sweetest little babe. She just wants to be a good person, so bad. And be the best friend/sister/daughter she can be, and I love her for it. If I could go back to my teen self, I'd hand her this book and tell her to take notes. These characters are so nice to each other (barring a certain someone, but I won't say more), and the love and bond between Imogen and Lilly, as these friends who have grown up together and know each others every little idiosyncrasy made me so happy for them, truly. We should all be so lucky! Beyond them, the whole college friend group was great. And the sibling relationship you get to see between Imogen & Lilly and their respective younger siblings is really sweet, too.
The romance, though? Maybe the sweetest YA relationship I've ever read. I love how Tessa is just like yea, things happened, and that was a lot, but I still like you, so oh well. The full acceptance they have for the other, and the care between these 2 girls who have only just met, ugh. I love them!
This review feels jumbled, and it probably doesn't even make sense, but please, please, PLEASE read this book!!
