Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
4.0
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4 out of 5 stars
I wouldn’t have expected to find “charming” to be the most apt word to describe a serial killer romance with trigger warnings for cannibalism and eye gouging, and yet… the romance between Butcher (Rowan) and Blackbird (Sloane) is entirely charming.
Theirs is a bit of a slow burn romance, and I sometimes felt the wait a bit painstaking. But once these friends finally turned lovers, the action was made up for in spades (and in Rowan’s penchant for dominance and anal 😳).
I sometimes felt underwhelmed or found the book repetitive, but ultimately I enjoyed it. It’s a charming and original story.
