We Could Do This Forever by Emerson Beckett

4.0

A really sweet story between Nick, who works as a bartender at Alejandro's bar and is a grad student dedicated to his career, and Preston, who is Alejandro's best friend, and who is also focused on his career as a chef and owner of Bernardo's.

Both have suffered from broken hearts, although due to different circumstances, which makes them both cautious when starting a new relationship. Also, Nick is really, really focused on his career, and feels that this is not the time to change his priorities. The big problem in this story is the lack of good communication between the two MCs, due to fear, or jealousy, or perhaps due to previous disastrous relationships. And although Preston is the older of the two, he is also the more impulsive and perhaps more immature.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I think Preston isn't the only one who should have made the grand gesture to reconcile. Nick was wrong too, and I think he should be responsible for that.

In general, sweet, romantic, entertaining, slow burn but some great steamy scenes, with lovable characters and some cameos from The Package Deal series.

I was giving an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
