The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

5.0

4.5/5
The Name of the Wind ended up being just as impressive as I was led on to believe - it must have required insane amounts of skill, imagination and time. The internet is filled with praise for this novel and I don’t think I have much to add on that, maybe just that I’ve never come across as beautiful descriptions of music! They almost made me cry, and I’m not a very musical person.
The only thing keeping me from giving The Name of the Wind full five stars is that it sometimes felt quite hard to keep up with all the details of the world. I don’t think Rothfuss explained everything well enough or reminded the reader of things that were mentioned hundreds of pages ago and that suddenly became actual again – I was often a bit confused. But this is a slight complaint of an otherwise fantastic book. If you like fantasy, read it, and don’t let it wait around for years like I did.
