A very insightful biography of the earth that spans the creation of the solar system and includes a decent dose of speculation on the foreseeable future into a similar timescale. This is a good read that doesn't bog its reader down with the technicalities of geology and paleontology among other varied disciplines. It instead works equally well for the lay man as it might to someone in these fields like the author.
