The Siren by Katherine St. John

emotional mysterious tense fast-paced

5.0

The Siren is escapism at it's finest.
Thank you to Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Books for my gifted copy for review!
I loved Katherine St. John's debut The Lion's Den, so was most excited for this one. Turns out I enjoyed The Siren even more!
Welcome to the glossy world of fame and stardom, of filmmaking and exotic locales. Exes Cole Power and Stella Rivers have reunited in the Caribbean to film the movie The Siren, directed by his son Jackson.
They're all unaware that in their midst is someone from their storied and hazy pasts.
Chapters are told from the points of view of aging starlet Stella, her assistant Felicity, and film producer Taylor - three very different women with intriguing stories to tell.
One of their stories stands above the rest, though I can't say whose as it's the dark weave on which the action rests. Interspersed with their accounts are media clips and journal entries, adding a feel of authenticity.
There's a touch of Evelyn Hugo vibe here, one of my all-time favorites.
Let yourself get swept up in this world of allure, where beauty and perfection blur the lines of excess, controversy and heartbreak.
