Wilder Girls by Rory Power

Did not finish book. Stopped at 31%.
I honestly just found this book incredibly dull. The pace felt like a slog. The characters didn't connect with me nor did any of their interactions feel very real. All the characters felt like pawn that move and thought like the plot demand over full realized people. It makes the body horror and death less effective. Power's writing style often felt clunky. I wanted to like this book because the setting was intriguing, and I was told there is f/f romance. I was excited for a wlw book in which the main plot isn't just the romance or coming out. Unfortunately, I just ended up not being able to vibe with the book. I kept starting on stopping the book, and it was taking me a long time just get through small portions I could usually blow through. I could tell it just wasn't holding me. I wouldn't knock other people from trying it. The pacing and writing style may be up someone else's alley, and they may connect with the characters more.
