Crazy Rich Africans! This was an absolute page turner for me. I hope they make a movie....and a good one, not a Ghana drama on VHS. My family is Ewe from Ghana like the author and the main character so much of it resonated with me and gave me a deeper sense not only around class and gender expectations but was also a strong reminder of how female dominated our culture can be for better or for worse. When people talk about "smashing the patriarchy", I want to tell them stories like this. Sometimes hell hath no fury like a rich matriarch scorned.
