Sadie by Courtney Summers

4.5/5☆~ theres a little addiction-shaming that I'm not a fan of, but I can also understand why a child would feel that way about their parents drug problem, still dont like it so we're knocking a little bit off the rating. I have family & loved ones that struggle with addiction myself, so I know how hard it is to watch someone fight those demons, but I dont know what it's like to be raised by that fight. just....a lot there.

ANYWAY, this book is raw & not a light read. its emotional & beautifully written in a way cool podcast format mixed with sections from Sadie's POV & it is easy to get lost in frantically devouring it out of a need to know what happened.

but be careful if you want to read this one.
content/trigger warnings for;
mentions of drug use, sexual assault, csa, violence

again, this is not an easy story, and the ending is a little open ended, but once you've read it it's not hard to know what happens with sadie. maybe it's all the true crime podcasts I listen to regularly myself or the amazing descriptions & insight from sadie herself, but you'll be able to figure it out, & it's hard to come to terms with, but its who she was. and I love that girl, I love this book. if you can handle the subject matter, read this book.
