It’s Nate and the romance. I can’t root for this romance no matter how much I love Vivica’s character.. Nate is problematic. I’m the sex scenes are steamy yay! But Vivica deserved someone better than Nate. He’s rude, misgnisitc, and if he harps on her “virginal” tendancies one more time.  I enjoyed the historical components, Vivica being a black female doctor!! But if the story was mail it about her without the romance with Nate then I’d definitely continue. 

I read Indigo as my first Beverly Jenkins book and expected the male character to be like the male love interest from the start.
