FANTASTIC. Simple yet excellent writing. Had me laughing, gasping, and wondering about a simpler time. If you’ve read Glass Castle, this paints a great picture of how Rosemary Walls got to be how she is. Very slice-of-life-y (someone compared it to Laura Ingalls Wilder for grownups). This quote sums it up best:
“I became known as Lily Casey, the mustang-breaking, poker-playing, horse-race-winning schoolmarm of Coconino County, and it wasn't half bad to be in a place where no one had a problem with a woman having a moniker like that.”
May every woman be a Lily Casey.
