Scary hares and frightening nightmares

These two novellas make up for a great but ominous little series that have left me feeling very creeped out, all in the best way possible. The writing is descriptive and atmospheric with some unique ideas but I loved how there was a humorous twist every so often

The main character was determined to find answers to all the eerie on goings but had an intelligent outlook throughout. She never let what was happening effect her too much but instead used it as a motivator to solve the mystery

Both books follow a different storyline with their horror elements ranging from disturbing hares and mushrooms to very unsettling night time encounters. I think I preferred book 1 slightly more than the follow up as I felt like there was more tension but they both had their own stand out moments

Even though these are short stories, they both still managed to withhold a quality story and I am very much looking forward to reading more from T. Kingfisher
