This was a bookclub book, and I never would have picked it up otherwise. Sometimes, those are great surprises. In this case, it was just a slog. I spent the 50 pages I did read confused and bored - at least, when I wasn't actively annoyed at the sexism. I found myself dreading picking this up, so while I'm disappointed to fail at bookclub, I just can't make myself finish.
