Hmmm, how to describe Last Days. It was originally pitched to me as a book about an amputation cult - which it certainly is - but I would better describe it as more of a descent into religious fringe madness and conspiracy. The general feeling I had while reading was not really one of disgust (in total there is maybe one depiction that sort of grossed me out), but one of confusion. There are so many points of trust and mistrust with the characters. Overall, I liked the concept but do feel I would have preferred a longer novel with more in depth explanation and therefore character payoff. In some ways it was so chaotic it felt over too quick.
