An excellent book from start to finish! I received this book as a wonderful welcome home gift from my girlfriend after a solo backpacking trip abroad. It was so cathartic to be able to read, essentially Stevensons' personal travel journal about the excitements and mishaps that he encountered on this ambitious and ultimately successful trip around the world. In an era where planes make instant teleportation to any spot on the globe possible, Stevenson takes the long way around and is all the better for it.
