Angel Fire by L.A. Weatherly
5.0
So, I love this book dearly and I love this series oh so very much, but I do have some cons to list.
1. The Love Triangle. Basically, it didn't need to happen. Alex and Willow had a good thing going on. It started tense and built slowly and budded beautifully in the first book. Seb was completely irrelevant. I mean yes, his half-angelness was needed so Willow could learn to hide her aura and he knew the area and all that stuff, but he could have easily have been another girl and achieved the same means with about 300 fewer pages. I don't know how many times I wanted to slap them both. Alex was being a jealous jerk and Willow was pulling a Bella Swan with the whole "OMG, I don't know which one of you I want to be with cuz I love you both SOOOOOO much".
......
Team Alex and Team Seb do NOT need to happen. But thankfully, they don't. The triangle is started and resolved within the entire book, which proves how irrelevant it was to the overlying story. Besides, you have an Apocalypse to deal with in a 2 week span. Your love life can most certainly wait till you know you're not going to die.
2. The new Angel Killers. I don't even remember most of their names and I only finished about 2 months ago. I remember Kara only because she was the only one who was developed. The other ones basically served as army numbers and angel fodder.
3. The final battle. Was anyone else disappointed with the lack of pizazze the battle with the 12 had. It seemed like for being the best of angelkind, they went down just as easy as the rest. I was expecting...more?
Those being said, I did enjoy this whole book, as long as it was. The final outcome was worth every long, drawn out page and I cannot wait till we get the third one!
