I’ve been loving all the Before the Coffee Gets Cold books - the way Toshikazu Kawaguchi makes me deeply care about people in just a couple dozen pages is almost magical - but the latest installment was a slight let down. The stories feel too similar to earlier ones, and the background story about the owners of the cafe doesn’t go anywhere.
