Oliva (Liv) Huang Christenson is ready to take over her grandmother's (Po po) legacy, which is her matchmaker business based on the Chinese zodiac. Liv's life is ruled by the Chinese zodiac and she firmly stands by it to help her guide decisions. But when Bennett O'Brien strolls up with a matchmaking app based on the Chinese zodiac, Liv is furious and vows to take down her competition. They end up in a deal to see who can get the other to fall in love first. Will Live get Bennett to fall in love or will Liv be blinded by love?

A quirky and cute low stakes rom-com. The novel is written from Liv's point of view and it's repetitive how often the sole focus is on destroying the competing app. She was hyper-focused on her goal and I wanted just more about her. Liv was quite singular as a character and I think that singularity was also found in the other characters. Although, Bennett had some more nuance than Liv.

This was a quick read but simultaneously a bit hard to get into. I absolutely loved the integration of the Chinese zodiac. But I wanted more in all regards from this book: more depth in the characters, more about the Chinese zodiac, and more from the plot.
