I LOVE THIS SERIES!!
I’m here after watching the anime, but it is hard to make music come across in a manga so I’m glad I watched it first. The song Mafuyu sings is literally one of the highlights of the anime! I was so hoping to see it unfold in Vol. 1…but it left on a great note too!
The variety of characters - Uenoyama, Mafuyu, Akihiko, and Haruki specifically - are equally different but blend together perfectly. I like the explanation in the manga that having different music tastes as the guys do helps expose each of them to other music styles. It’s a cool thought and it just fits!
Mafuyu is so unbelievably adorable AND cute (in an attractive way), but OH MY GOSH THE POOR GUY! I may have forgotten the big event in his past that traumatized him. [Kind of spoiler: It’s a bit dark.] Yet Mafuyu’s growth ties into his song, which also connects him to Uenoyama.
The whole series is just this wonderful story of growth, appreciation/passion for music, and moving forward!
