Who Is Maud Dixon? by Alexandra Andrews

4.0

What a wild story! Florence Darrow is a hot mess who gets fired from her publishing job and then lands an assistant's job to a famous novelist whose pseudonym is Maud Dixon. I can't say much else because it would give away too many details. Suffice it say that the characters are all half-step from crazy. Very engaging and very dark at the end.
I found the character names odd. Everyone seemed to have a very old-fashioned name - Florence, Agatha, Maud, Helen. It felt like a 1950s film noir.
(Pet peeve regarding the audio narrator - she mispronounces Ovid's name. In addition, she always over-emphasized the word "just". "There was juuust enough time..." "She was juuust the kind of friend..." It was unnecessary and off-putting.
