An Irish Country Doctor by Patrick Taylor

4.0

This was a sweet, well-written story that, while it takes place during the troubles in Northern Ireland, pretty much completely ignores all that for life in the countryside. I can easily see this as a British TV series, if there weren't already so many Irish small town and small town doctor series already. Not really Doc Hollywood (other than a small town boy becoming a doctor and ending up back in a small town), because the lead doesn't have the distain for small towns. Pretty much a new doctor finding his way in a quirky (aren't they all?) village under the tutelage of the crusty old veteran doctor. Quite pleasant.
