The Diary of Frida Kahlo: An Intimate Self-Portrait by Carlos Fuentes, Frida Kahlo
5.0
I took a very long time reading this, not only is it a hefty book it's also so deeply personal to Kahlo it almost feels like an invasion of privacy in places. The pages in the first section of the book are so vivid, colourful and personal it can really take your breath away, and the back translations are worthy of reading over and over again. I've always enjoyed her works and admired her as an activist, queer icon & as an artist and this has just amplified these feelings.
