2.5 - weirdly enough, even though this is the book where the two finally get together, it felt mostly unmemorable for me. Other than that moment this book feels indistinctive from the other books before it. And you’d think the one where they finally get together would be a favorite of mine from the series, but I actually didn’t love the way they got together. The confession at the end didn’t work for me because it was a “near-death experience makes you realize you shouldn’t waste anymore time because this day could be your last so go tell them you love them” type of thing but that didnt work for me because I’m pretty sure Hazard has almost died in every single book so how was this one any different?

Also I don’t like how Somers’ drinking problem has had zero progression from book one. It seems it’s just being used as a tool to get Somers drunk in each book and have him come on to Hazard to remind everyone he still has feelings for him. I was pretty over by this point and I don’t like how Somers doesn’t take his drinking problem seriously even four books into the series.

I definitely need a break from the series before I pick up book 5 because I do want to see them as an established couple but I’m tired of reading these cases
