After the heaviness of It Ends With Us, which I didn’t feel I needed to or should rate and review because of the difficult subject matter, I was really happy to read this one and the hopefulness it ended on.
A lot of readers have said that this second book in an unplanned series was more of a long epilogue, and I agree. Yet, I still liked it. It was nice getting to know what happened to Atlas and Lily after It Ends With Us, while revisiting moments from the previous book that solidified their love for each other. I also liked where Atlas’s story continues in this book and how he became the person Lily was him for an important character that enters his life.
There were still heavy topics mentioned (Ryle for one is still a significant character in both Lily and Atlas’s lives), but the lighter and special moments between Atlas and Lily, the love that they had, I felt overpowered the pain that lingered from the first book.
