I enjoyed Starter Villain. The plot moved quickly, which kept my interest and the humour was to my taste. The absurdity of a few sections like the efforts of the dolphins to form a union kept me smiling. I also liked the cat-spies.
If there was a downside, I would have liked a bit more character development from the main character, Charlie. The book moved quickly from one action point to another, leaving little time for Charlie to grow as a character.
