Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

5.0

This was such a good book, I'm shocked because I didn't expect much from it.
In my review on Clockwork Angel, I had mentioned that the thing that was missing from it was good character building and development, and I'm very glad to see that this book included a lot of character building and plot twists.

I'm giving this one a 5 star rating for a couple of reasons:
. Will Herondale, gorgeous and tragic Will... His plot was just something else in this book, heartbreaking and still very beautiful.
. Jem Carstairs, precious and adorable Jem... Now I get what all the fuss is about, reading The Dark Artifices I did not feel much for Jem, but now after getting to know him and seeing how incredible his soul is, I gotta say I'm a huge fan of Jem.
. Gideon Lightwood was simply adorable, I really like his part in the book.
. Charlotte and Henry Branwell, them speaking the truth at the end of the book, making it clear that they have loved one another from the very beginning was absolutely sweet and sad at the same time (Also they're gonna have a baby boy!!)
. I really enjoyed how Mortmain was kept off-screen in this book, gave us a breather and a couple of side villains in Nathaniel Grey and Benedict Lightwood.
. Jessamine's betrayal came out of nowhere, which I very much enjoyed, although I still do not view her as a villain, she was just a desperate girl in love (Is she the ghost that Kit talked to in Dark Artifices? The ghost that protected the London Institute?)

All in all, a very good sequel that has me all excited to start reading the third book.
