I Wish I Would've Chosen You by Whitney G.
5.0
This was another one of those go in blind, don't read the synopsis kind of book by the author. To be honest, I usually do go in blind or if I have read it then I've forgotten by the time I get to reading the book. Anyway... age gap, teacher/student, taboo, second chance romance. Whew! That's a lot to unpack.
Genevieve Edwards is brilliant. She's a great writer for a high school student and publishes under several pen names. Her quest to immerse herself in the creative writing world often gets her into trouble. When she discovers that the guy she's insanely attracted to is also her teacher Liam Donovan, all kinds of feelings crop up. For both of them. There were a lot of secret meetings and phone calls late into the night (or early morning if we're getting technical). When they were together, all the masks came off and they were the realest, rawest they could be with one another. Or were they? The author kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I read. I couldn't predict what would happen from page to page and I certainly didn't see their reunion happening the way it did. Not to mention everything that happened after that. The story ends with HEA but it was anyone's guess when and if it would happen. Can't wait to see what the author has in store along these line in the future!
