The plot started off pretty strong but seemed to meander and get a little convoluted towards the end (as these Buffy/Angel novels that clock over 200 pages tend to do...) but I actually quite enjoyed the tying up of various strands at the end. 
The characterisation aso felt very odd; Angel making too many jokes, Cordelia being a little too flippant and quippy.
