Beaches, Bungalows, and Burglaries by Tonya Kappes
2.0
I have veeeerrrryyyyy mixed feelings about this book. I will say, there is a possibility that I will give the second book a chance, but we'll see. I am a cozy mystery lover, but this book felt so extremely choppy. Not just that, but there were just too many conveniences and things happened too quickly overall.
My biggest gripe is the murder itself. At the beginning of the book it is said, "'How was he killed?' I asked. 'One shot. Straight to the heart.'" And then when the killer is having their grand speech at the end they say, "He begged until I put a bullet in his head." Like really???? The murder couldn't even be kept consistent?
Yeesh.
