Cole and Gage meet when Cole was being blackmailed into revealing a private video that he didn't know was being filmed. Cole seeks Gage's help to prevent that video from being revealed and ruining his career. Gage is a private detective, he was always a bit of a workaholic but since his partner committed suicide, he sank even deeper into his work, to the point of not sleeping or eating well, simply to be able to cope with the grief of that loss.
These two who apparently would have nothing in common and were at very different points in their lives, however, somehow, they fit in with each other and begin a relationship that helps them begin to heal and fix some of their problems. But life is not that easy, and Cole receives an offer that leads him to try his career in another city. They continue with their long-distance relationship, but it's hard, they spend entire weeks without seeing each other, and everything indicates that this situation will continue indefinitely, threatening the fragile bond between them, which leads them to consider whether to pursue their careers by sacrificing what they feel for each other is worth it.
It is a story that raises different problems, which perhaps is a little too much: the tense situation with ColeĀ“s sister, the long distance relationship, plus the grief and guilt that still haunts Gage, the blackmail, Cole's fear for damaging his career, etc., but in the sum of everything, it ends up being an interesting story, quite well written, where perseverance, love and the desire to make the other happy stand out.
