The Gunslinger by Stephen King

3.0

Roland -- the gunslinger -- was on his quest to find the man in black. He had gone through town, desert and a mountain on his journey. Had met people; befriended some and kill some, or should I say a town.

In the desert, he had found a boy named Jack, whom soon became his companion throughout the rest of his journey until he finally came face to face with the man in black.

And then the gunslinger true quest of finding the Dark Tower begin.

_________

The Gunslinger; this book is overall a tedious reading for me. I love the writing, but not so much on the plot; somehow it is rather flat. The idea of the world building is there though not so much elaborated, since the story focusing more on Roland's journey to find the man in black.

To consider that this is a book in a longer series I can understand why this first book is written this way -- to conclude it, The Gunslinger is like a long prologue to the whole series, which is a pretty decent reason to not stop reading this series.
